Fairfax-based product lifecycle management company 3Pillar Global Inc. announced Tuesday that David Sawatzky has become the company’s first chief delivery officer.

3Pillar created the role as part of its new growth phase following an early 2020 investment from New York City-based CIP Capital Fund Management LLC, according to a company statement. An investment amount was not disclosed.

In his new role, Sawatzky will oversee all 3Pillar services including its product development service line. He will also lead the development of new service lines including management consulting and machine learning.

Sawatzky was most recently the senior vice president and global leader for digital professional services at New York City-based professional services firm Genpact, where he oversaw consulting and technical offerings. Before Genpact, he had a 22-year career with International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), where he had been the vice president of SaaS (software as a service) and client success for IBM’s Cognitive Solutions. There he led a global team of 2,000 employees.

“David has built an impressive career in digital professional services, and we’re delighted to have him and his expertise serving our clients here at 3Pillar,” 3Pillar CEO David DeWolf said in a statement. “Adding David in this role to our executive leadership team is an exciting and important step as we continue to grow and strengthen our client delivery capabilities.”

Sawatzky earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from George Washington University and his master’s degree in business administration from Virginia Tech. He has previously served on the professional services advisory board for the Technology Services Industry Association.
