Van Eersel became CEO of the University of Virginia Foundation in July 2025, succeeding Tim Rose, who retired after 33 years. Since 2013, van Eersel had worked as the chief administrative officer of the foundation, which she joined in 2001. During her tenure, van Eersel expanded the university’s research parks and strengthened partnerships with the private sector and government, according to the foundation.
