leadership: I have been heavily involved in ICF’s strategic acquisitions over my tenure at the company. These acquisitions are not just tactical, they are transformative, positioning us to deliver greater value to a broader array of clients and ensuring our long-term resilience in a dynamic marketplace. Additionally, our Legal team is a key player as our business shifts and increases our work across state and local government, utility, international, and commercial markets.

Pro bono work/community or civil involvement: I am proud that our department regularly steps beyond our professional responsibilities to serve our community in meaningful ways. Whether it’s supporting and manning local food pantries or participating in adopt-a-family programs during the holidays, these efforts reflect our commitment to help those in need.

On my identity/background: As someone raised in a military family, I learned early on the importance of flexibility and adaptability. I learned to embrace change, adjust quickly, and find solutions in unfamiliar situations. These experiences have shaped my approach as General Counsel and business lawyer.

Most pressing issue that IHCs face: I see the rapidly evolving legal landscape and the transformative impact of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, as the most pressing issues. The legal environment requires us to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and adapt quickly while AI presents both major opportunities and significant risk considerations.

Evolution of the IHC position: No longer confined to providing legal advice in isolation, in-house counsel are now deeply engaged in business decision-making processes.

Most pressing issue that IHCs face: Addressing complex regulatory and technology matters — particularly AI, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
