Forbes Magazine released third annual list of top 500 companies this week

Of the top 500 companies on Forbes Magazine’s third annual America’s Best Employers for Diversity list for 2020 released Wednesday, 19 Virginia businesses were ranked.
Only companies with at least 1,000 employees were surveyed.
Rankings were compiled through surveys from German database company Statista that asked respondents to rate their organizations on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation. The survey also asked minority group respondents to nominate organizations other than the one they work for to be considered for the list.
The following are the 19 Virginia businesses on the top 500 list for America’s Best Employers for Diversity. Companies are listed in the order they were ranked, including their overall rating.

#355 — Mars Inc. (McLean)
#368 — Five Guys Enterprises LLC (Lorton)
#436 — CGI Group Inc. (Fairfax)
#441 — Volkswagen AG (Herndon)
#447 — Gannett Co. Inc. (McLean)
#455 — Leidos (Reston)
#466 — BAE Systems PLC (Arlington)
#498 — Nestlé S.A. (Arlington)

Of the 19 ranking companies, 13 are Northern Virginia regional companies. Although not headquartered in Virginia, the company holding the No. 1 spot has one Virginia office.
Newton Square, Pennsylvania-based SAP America Inc. ranked No. 1. It has 19 offices in the U.S., including one in Reston. In total, SAP employs approximately 25,000 people in North America.
