“Global supply chains remain under pressure from every direction — shifting tariffs, carrier consolidation, compliance complexity,” Hagen said in a statement. “Shippers need a logistics partner who can see the full picture and move quickly. That’s exactly what CVI is built to do, and we’re sharpening our commercial model to make it easier for customers to access everything we offer under one roof.”

Meanwhile, Scott has taken over as president of Capes Shipping Agencies from Michael Coleman, who remains CEO of both CV International and Capes. The Norfolk-based subsidiary is a port and vessel agency serving the U.S. East and Gulf coasts.

Scott will lead the company’s efforts to expand its geographic footprint, broaden its service capabilities and deepen its partnerships across the dry bulk, liquid bulk, breakbulk and energy infrastructure sectors. He has been a member of the Capes leadership team since 2020, previously serving as director of business development. A William & Mary alum, Scott previously worked for more than 21 years at the transportation company T. Parker Host.

“Capes continues to experience impressive growth due to our staff’s dedication to exceptional customer service,” Scott said. “Our ability to handle a diverse range of commodities brings value to our customers as their partner in every port we serve. For these reasons, I am excited about what the future holds for our company.”

CV International also promoted Peter Hansen to vice president of operations at Capes and Kevin Briggs as vice president of technology across both CVI and Capes.

“These appointments represent a significant milestone in our long-term growth strategy,” said Coleman in a statement. “Cary’s strategic depth in global logistics and Bobby’s expertise in vessel agency create a formidable leadership team.”

Headquartered in Norfolk, CVI provides freight forwarding, customs brokerage, supply chain visibility and compliance consulting services. In addition to its headquarters, the company has 11 branch locations throughout the United States. CVI and Capes collectively employ 117 people.
