In almost any conversation, Stewart can find a way to bring up preventive health screenings, but it isn’t simply a side effect of her profession. Stewart has had breast cancer and colon cancer diagnoses in her immediate family, and she’s helped expand breast cancer screening through Health Wagon. Stewart also is an adjunct nursing instructor at Vanderbilt University.
KEY TO MY SUCCESS: A blend of empathy, perseverance and purpose. I approach every challenge with the mindset that compassion and hard work can change lives. My philosophy is to turn personal challenges into professional motivation, transforming hardship into healing for others. That belief has guided me in expanding cancer screenings and preventive care across our region and continues to inspire me to lead with both heart and accountability
WHERE I SEE MYSELF IN 10 YEARS: In a leadership role that continues to bridge innovation and compassion, developing programs that close health gaps, training emerging clinicians and influencing health care policy to better serve rural communities.
